Gingrich
Newt made headlines this past week by announcing a proposal for the seating the Florida and Michigan delegates. He argues that to give the delegates to Clinton, who was the only candidate to actually campaign in the states, would be completely unfair and a "recipe for even more chaos". On the other hand, Newt argues that "alienating two of the most important states runs the risk of the Democrat's losing those states that they want and need in the National election". His proposal is to re-vote in these two particular states. This issue will only become a more prominent one with every day that Obama pulls away from Hillary.

in the past week Gingrich has said that the candidate that will win the election is the one that gets the message of change across best to the country and says that the only candidate to have done this is Obama. Gingrich says that in order for McCain to win he is going to need to appeal to the public much more to compete with Obama. also he thinks that the democratic party needs to re run the michigan and florida primaries. seeing as how Clinton won both of these but not any delegates maybe Gingrich would rather have Clinton be the nominee than Obama. possibly because she might be easier to beat?

Gingrich was in the news recently with his remarks about the conservative party. During his speech, he stated that, "In a fundamental way, the conservative movement has to declare itself independent from the Republican Party." He did point out that he doesn't think the conservative movement should split into a third party however. Regardless, Gingrich gave all his support to Republican front runner John McCain. This comes five days after saying that he would not be endorsing McCain.

Newt in the News
Newt Gingrich's name has been surfacing for a possible dark horse entrance into the Republican presidential race. The speculation argues that Newt's ability to attract the grass roots of America could put him on the road to victory in a "Reagan" kind of way. With all the voters split up by Romney, McCain, and Huckabee, many argue Newt is the man who would steal enough votes from each different sect to win the nomination. Of course this is all just political speculation, but what a thrill that would be if he did finally enter.
In other news, Gingrich has committed to being the special guest for the Young Republican National Foundation Super Tuesday "Watch Party". The organization is the oldest living political youth group in America. Gingrich has yet to endorse a specific candidate, but many Republicans hope for him to join a candidate in their race for the Presidency.
