Gingrich Update (November 18, 2007)

Newt Gingrich has not been focused on much after anouncing on September 30 that he will not run for President in 2008. Gingrich determined he could not legally support a bid becuase of the conflict between being chairman of the organization "America Solutions" and the exploration for a presidential campaign. Despite some major support for the former House Speakor to run, Newt has stayed strong on his desicion.

So then what is Newt up to? Like Nader, he's not one to keep his mouth shut for long, and he always seems to be on a speaking tour or talking to the media. What issues is he bringing up via American Solutions? Why is he bringing up those specific issues when he is--is he trying to influence the primaries? Is there a Draft Newt movement with any chance of bringing him into the race? Keep your eye on this guy--he may have a small following, but they are a loyal following, and if Newt tells them how he thinks they should vote in Iowa or New Hampshire, his followers' votes could be enough to make or break a candidate.
